At some point I can across a quote "If serving is beneath you, then leading is beyond you."  (I have to go back and see if I can find out where I heard this so I can give proper credit).  Our mens group had just started studying a book on servant leadership when I cam across this quote.  It applied perfectly with what we were studying.  Jesus came and served; He washed the feet of his disciples. "I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you." (John 13:15).

Jesus is God, he is the greatest among us, yet he washed the feet of his followers.  He put the needs of them above his own, he put the spiritual needs of all of us before his needs.  He fed the hungry, he healed the sick.  He did not just stand in the temple saying "look at me, I'm God"  He went out and found the people that needed him.
